Cancelled Class Means Rambling

Writing blog posts is the perfect activity for when your class gets cancelled, right? Every time we have a snow day, I think of the movie Snow Day and start craving watermelon Bubbalicious.

This weekend could not have been any better. One of my favorite people was in town for the weekend and it was so good to see her. We spent one afternoon at the National Museum of the American Indian and a morning at the National Gallery. There was also Mexican hot chocolate and fry bread. Pretty much the perfect way to reconnect.

Also, I managed to drive around DC, parallel park, and not die. If you know how poorly I parallel park, you should be quite impressed.  I'll hold for applause.

Saturday night and Sunday morning was Stake Conference with Elder Perkins of the Seventy as the presiding authority. Then this morning I went to the temple. All of this made for a quite inspiring weekend; it's given me lots of things to think about.

And then, there's the frivolous things.

I'm obsessed with Rima Vaidila. I never thought I'd be into her style....but I find myself scouring her blog before I get dressed in the morning.

I've started using a facial oil, and let me tell you my skin is ridiculously soft. Game changer. I'm all over it.

Gabrielle Aplin has the voice of an angel. November and Panic Cord are my favorite songs.

I absolutely LOVE sweet vidalia onion salad dressing.

And I've just got word that the government is closed tomorrow.

Happy Monday.
