A few weeks ago, my roommate and I went to an event sponsored by Women's Services on campus. The event was called Recapturing Beauty which is also the theme that Women's Services is celebrating this year. They invited the Kite Sisters from Beauty Redefined to come and speak. It was an absolutely amazing experience to listen to these sisters talk about the true nature of beauty.
While we were there, we signed up to participate in a 10 Day Body Image Challenge. It starts tomorrow and to be honest, I'm really excited. Its something that bothers me a lot so I think it will do me a lot of good to focus on changing my attitude about my body.
In other news, Jess and I also went to BYU Spectacular as part of homecoming week. It was the most incredible experience. Brian Stokes Mitchell was the guest performer. I absolutely love him!!! While everything was great, my favorite piece was his last: The Impossible Dream from Man of La Mancha. Here is a video of him singing this piece with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir:
